The LED's are definitely the best choice! They're very bright, last forever, generate no heat and are extremely energy efficient. Their only drawback is they're still in the more expensive. They're definitely where lighting in the future is heading. Another advantage all will not really relevant in this situation is that they do not contain any mercury liked the fluorescent do so there's no problem recycling them. They're actually also starting to make them in a wide variety of shapes and sizes including floodlights, spotlights and conventional lighting configuration.

I heard about this on NPR yesterday and thought, What the heck? Because good grief. Apart from the, well, grinch-like attitude, it seems poor business practice generally. I like what Abramson said.... "It appears these lawyers' hearts are two sizes too small." No kidding.

OK I agree that the company who owns the trademark rights for Dr. Seuss is kind of behaving like a grinch but.... The local government, including Mayor Abramson and all his lawyers and spokespeople should know that these characters and names are copyrighted and that permission is required to use them. Maybe some groups of people could plead they didn't know the requirements but our local government officials certainly shouldn't be able to plead this.

Maybe rather than the lawyers hearts been two sizes too small, the mayors head is two sizes too big!
