My husband mentioned that! I'm happy to report the girls are no longer there. Besides, they'd be what? 60 or 70 now.

Oceanside is a great little seafood place right next to Al Watan on Klondike. It's owned by a friendly Moroccan family. Also, Jasmine makes a mean gyro at Jasmine's Bakery.

I've been wanting to try the Pizza Place. We've only been in our new house about 10 days so we'll have to venture out and try some of the suggestions.

Thanks everyone.

I've heard good things about the Pizza Place, but haven't tried it yet.

I know which restaurant you are talking about, but this one is new, I think, and you can see it from the parking lots of Al Watan and Oceanside looking across Klondike. I think it starts with a "C".

El Ray's is exactly where you are describing. Right at the end of that strip mall facing Hikes Lane. The only other thing over there is a smoke shop (used to be Ehrler's), barber shop and The Golden Nugget. There is a little mexican grocery right by the old Smith's furniture. Might that be what you were seeing?

Older ladies have to work too.

I might have known your husband. Of course most of us never looked at other guys. We were to busy.

Daren, you are correct. There is a brand new tiny restaurant at the end of that strip mall: Los Cantaros Mexican Grill. There was a high communication barrier but I did learn that this new place has no relationship with El Rey's.

The pizza place is quite good and has an inexpensive lunch buffet with pizzas, salad, sandwiches and sometimes soup.
Decades ago, one could see on top from the old Chico's with which they shared a parking lot a very large lighted sign: Pussy Cat A Go Go.

Robert,
Thanks for checking and let me know if you try the new place. It will probably be a week or two before I can get over there.
Mike,
The store that is in the same building as Al Watan bakes fresh pita bread daily if you are into that sort of thing. I buy all of my tea, olive oil and spices from this store as well . . . their prices are better than most of the local groceries.
