Re: Flanagan's Thursday Night Tapping

by Ashley Isaacs » Tue Jul 29, 2008 4:08 pm

Hi everyone. My name is Ashley Isaacs and I am the manager at Flanagan's Ale House. If anyone is interested in being on the Flanagan's mailing list, just send me an email at ashley@louisvilleirishpubs.com. I send out a blast every three weeks with the list for the Thursday Night Pint Night and also anything else interesting coming up. We are doing a 7 course beer dinner in August with a blind tasting of 21 different beers paired specifically to compliment the food. It's going to be fun! People on the mailing list get first options to buy tickets. We also will be tapping a keg of Dogfish Palo Santo Marron on Tuesday, August 5th at 7:00. There has only been one other keg of this incredible brew in the state of Kentucky... and at 12% abv you will know why it is so exceptional! Go to Dogfish.com for more info. Ashley

I took a friend of mine who was in town recently down to Flanagan's and he was quite happy with the beer selection. I'm definitely going to be down there for the Dogfish.

Anyone want to meet up down there this Thursday? I'm not normally a beer drinker, but I need to give it another try.

Made it down tonight for the tapping and tried out the Dortmunder Gold. My wallet wasn't brave enough for the Unibroue, although I notice that it seemed to be very popular. It was a very pleasant evening, spent most of the time talking with people about Brett Favre and football, since that seemed to be the dominant topic everywhere.

Whole Foods has the Unibroue that Ashley featured that night, in the same 750ml bottles, for $8.99. You MUST try it. It is scrumptious beyond words. :D
