My Daughter went to Wolfgang Pucks place a few days ago and really liked it and said the same thing that the prices are not bad and the food was good...

Wolfgang Puck is great, and really not too expensive for what is is, imho. The butternut squash soup is amazing, and the BBQ wrap is fantastic! I also enjoy their garlic chips.

Folks, since Ellen's request was for healthy food, I can not recommend Wolfgang Puck. While I also like some of their food (that butternut squash soup is excellent) I checked their calories on -line and could find very little info except for their tortilla soup, which is a healthy option. From my experience eating there a number of times, I'd believe their food is in general high-fat and high calorie- most things are either covered in high fat Caeasar/aioli/dressing or very heavily loaded with olive oil (so much so that one of the pockets and the tuscan Vegetable pizza I had were heavily dripping with oil when I tried to eat them). All of their salads use full-fat dressings. I guarantee the butternut squash soup is made with cream- that's one of the reasons it tastes so good.

Can anyone suggest any healthy options there?- Other than the tortilla soup I haven't seen anything that I think fits the bill.

SaRA d.,

Thanks for the Eon sandwich shoppe suggestion. I'm right across the street on 3rd and Main and didn't know about this place. That'd be great for the (frequent ) days that I need to grab something quick. I'll be checking it out very soon.
Do you know if they have a menu online?

I do not believe they have a menu online or one that I have been able to find. If you stop by the ordering counter they do have paper menus that have detailed descriptions of all the items. I believe the most expensive item is around $6.50 and that includes a very large sandwich and a side of (chips, fruit, pasta or potato salad). They do offer a couple of veggie options as well. My favorite sandwiches from Queue are (these are not the proper names) the turkey club, turkey wrap, and the zesty grilled chicken. There is also a daily special which is usually pretty good too.

I used to work on 3rd and Main in Waterfront Plaza and would go there a few times a week, now I've moved down to 5th & Main but it's still worth the extra couple of blocks! The service is extremely friendly.

Jarfi's also just opened a cafe in the Ali Center on 6th. You have to walk around the building (the plaza area) to the entrance on the other side from the street. He doesn't have a huge selection, but does have several salads and soup choices. I love his Fez Lentil soup! A co-worker and I went a week ago and were very pleased.

It will be interesting to see if the higher gas prices make for enough bicycling/walking that the average weight of America goes down. Congrats, btw...

Have you tried Theater Square Deli ? We have your basic sandwiches ,along with daily sandwich and salad specials. I try to be inventive on both along with keeping the price down. Our average check is $6.50-$7.50 . I make all of our soups from scratch and roast all of our meats. Every Thurs and Friday we fire up the grill, weather permiitting , and serve burgers, chicken , and Italian sausages. Give us a try ,it will be worth the walk !!!

Since I don't work at Theater Square Deli I'll chime in and say we eat there at least 3 or 4 times a week. It's a pretty simple menu but well executed and priced reasonably. Good chicken salad and burgers. Wish he was opened for breakfast.
