Re: Dynasty Buffet - Temporary Shut Down??

Ate at Hometown Pizza in Middletown today for lunch. Walking in I noticed they had a "B" ranking. The place started as a Pizza Hut eons ago when they had very small kitchens. I asked the lady behind the counter how they got a "B" and she said that there is "a new sheriff in town" which I took to mean a new inspector making their bones. She said the dumpster lid was not all the way down on the dumpster, which they share with a DQ next door, not having a Ph strip displayed indicating the correct Ph in the dishwashing chemicals and for having a tub holding individual salad bar containers at waist height in the walk in. She said it should be above shoulder level. All corrected on site but that "B" will be in the window for a while. Pizza was as good as ever.

Re: Dynasty Buffet - Open Again

Follow up: I was grabbing lunch at Shane's Rib Shack today. I noticed that Dynasty is open again. They have a B inspection notice up, but there were people coming in and out.

Cheers,

Doug

Went on Saturday for lunch......was VERY good. Better than usual. When I asked, they said they had closed for a week to "do work on the kitchen".
If life's a Banquet, what's with all the Tofu?

Cheers!

Keep in mind that the Cipro will give your GI tract more fits than whatever you eat at Dynasty.

From limited experience (mainly with Cleveland's Corky & Lenny's frequent closings mandated by Bd of Health) now is the time to go! It will never be as clean as it is now for the re-test!

I still like it (Slyman's is the best, but driving a half hour for a sandwich is getting to be a tad far, even for me)

Anyways, back in the day my father had a friend who was a health inspector. Evidently the inspectors had a pool going about Corky's, since it had to be closed down for a couple of days of heavy cleaning every couple of years. My dad asked him about eating there, and he said that the best time to go was right after they reopened, as they had to pass an extremely thorough inspection to reopen, while those who waited 6-8 months or more to see what happened "were putting their lives on the line"!

I must admit, when I'm in town I still put my life on the line . . . last time they were forced to close was 18 months ago, for salmonella or e-coli (just don't remember) in the matzo balls!
