Didn't there used to be an IHOP in St. Matthews in the early 80s? I vaguely remember going there when I was little. My parents eventually dubbed the place "Roach-hop" because of the, ahem, roaches scurrying around the place. I think they closed shortly thereafter.

I had a TERRIBLE experience at an IHOP in Ft. Myers, FL last year. The food was mediocre, and even worse were the weird, long-legged bugs stuck in drops of maple syrup, slowly making their way across the table. :x

Yes there was, in the late 70's. I was going to impart my tale of employment there, but after your injection of the "roach" story I think it's best I keep it to myself. I NEVER saw a roach there.
Great food along with great company is truly one of lifes best treasures.

I don't think it went downhill until after you had left. I was born in '77 and we didn't move to Louisville until 1980, so it probably didn't become "Roach-Hop" until '82 or so. ;)

There used to be an IHOP in the late 70's, early 80's on 131 in Clarksville where Fazoli's was. I was hopeful when an IHOP opened on Veterans Parkway, as I loved the one at Terre Haute which I went to often while studying at ISU, but this one is sorely lacking in quality. Heck, even the new Olive Garden on Veterans is lousy compared to the much better one on Hurstborne.
