My husband and I walked down to Carly Rae's for a bite on the patio yesterday. The weather was gorgeous and they had live jazz. The food was good, we especially enjoyed the crispy fried artichokes.

Dave! Congratulations! We look forward to seeing you again. Please put one of your awesome steaks on the menu! Also, will there be any live music on the patio? We really enjoyed your old place! Please post when you have the new menu worker out.

We stopped in Saturday for lunch on the patio. Dave's salmon special worked wonders for our Bistro withdrawal symptoms. Apparently others felt the same as our server reported other NA refugee meetings and selling more specials than anything else.

It seems like everybody is pretty jazzed about improving the place. With Clancy in the kitchen, the nice locale, and good service like we got from Ryan on Saturday, we'll definitely be back to support the effort.

My companion and I gave it a try Saturday night. Great atmosphere on the patio. So much potential. I had the seasoned ribeye and very much enjoyed it, especially the green beans. They were fresh and nicely seasoned which was a nice change from the usually country style, cooked forever with saltpork or hamhocks. My companion had the Salmon special. She commented on how rare it is to get salmon so perfectly cooked. Her plate looked amazing, full of color and a variety of flavors. A good choice. One I will make again.

I used to love Carly Rae's in the spring and summer sitting out on the patio. It's by far the best patio in Louisville. Brandon was a great bartender who really knew his stuff when it came to beer and wine. I'm partial though...he's a relative. :) I always thought that they needed a new chef because the food was lacking while everything else was amazing! Great atmosphere and they always had really great musicians and bands playing. Is there going to be more music this summer!?!? I wish the best of luck to Carly Rae's!! We'll be there soon!

Wow! I had heard from the grape vine that Dave had taken the head chef job at Carly Rae's. They are a lucky bunch to have such an experienced and talented guy making the food. Honestly, the restaurant really needed some quality and competence added to their dishes since their open, and Dave is a perfect fit . I'm truly excited, i'm going to come in and have dinner. It's just a shame I couldn't have worked along side you. Louisville needs a serious beer and cuisine establishment. Can't wait to see what you have cooked up .

I also heard Ryan McGuill is the front of house.Worth his weight in gold. He does the work of three people and can still charm every table in the place. Also ,one of the best guys i've come across.

Looks like Carly Rae's is on the definate up and up. Good luck this summer, it's going to be busy!

Dave,
Congrats on landing in the new spot, I might have to come out and have a cold one or three... Anyways, I hear from lots of my friends the place is good, so I will have to come out once I get my sous chef situation worked out.

Went again last night for happy hour to introduce the spot to some friends who fell in the love with the patio! We enjoyed some wonderful apps-the artichoke fritters were perfect and the Jambalaya had a nice kick! Our server, Scotty was sweet and Ryan is fabulous!!! Sorry we did not get to see you Dave but we will be back...soon!

I'm going to hold you to that part about coming in to eat, you really should stop by and see what Dave has got going on. You would really enjoy the specials he's been doing and you can visit your old buddy Ryan.

Just took one of my students to CarlyRae's for lunch and we both had excellent burgers. I also had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Clancy and got to chat with him for a little bit. We ate on the patio and as everyone has noted it is an amazing place to eat a meal on a nice day. I work just down the block from CarlyRae's and am thrilled that Dave has taken over the kitchen. I look forward to many great meals there. I should also add that our server Issac did a wonderful job of taking care of us today. Just thought I would add on the praise!

I had a nice lunch at Carly Rae's today. Rain so no patio but it looks nice out there. Thanks Dave, Jamie and Stephanie. Very nice looking place. The Po Boy was very good and satisfying. I hope to make it back out for dinner sometime.

Can't wait to get back and sit on that great patio!!! Dave, does Lee Warren still own Carly Rae's? I think its great that you are there, that venue is purely infectious and such a great atmosphere. The best patio in town!
