Response from Tumbleweed

by Jay M. » Tue Apr 01, 2008 5:11 pm

I got this email back and have encouraged Leigh Ann to post, too.

Hello Jay,

I just signed up for an account on the web site to respond to the posting but since my account hasn't been activated yet, Please pass on that the RUMOR that the Tumbleweed on the Waterfront is closing is 100% FALSE. This is our highest volume location. Not only will our business be booming for Thunder Over Louisville (which there are still a few tables available) but as the weather warms up, this location will only get busier and busier.

Thank you so much for passing this rumor to our attention but rest assured, the Waterfront is OPEN for BUSINESS.

Thanks!!

I haven't seen her registration, Jay! I'd like to welcome her ... would you mind writing her back and asking her to contact me directly at rgarr@louisvillehotbytes.com ? I'm guessing she skimmed over the rules and tried to register with a nickname or pseud and was thus bounced by the real-names rule.

Just wondering....
Of all the folks that ate at the original Tumbleweed when it was across the river( or even a few years later when Mellwood first opened up) would anyone be able to say "Oh yes, they've gotten so much better after they went corporate!"?
Just wondering if anybody felt that way. :?:

I didn't work at the original (in New Albany) but I did work at the second one in NA before it went corporate. Back in 1979-1982 you were a "man" if you could eat a Beef Burrito Deluxe with only one large drink. When I go to Tweed these days with my son, I get anything but the Mexican based food. It just doesn't taste the same. It is bland. I know they have changed their focus from tex-mex but that is what I knew Tweed as when I was working in some of the original places. Now I think of it as a different restaurant that just happens to have the same name as an old place.
Have a Good Day!

Naaah, that's too much like censorship. As long as the thread ends up with a clear statement that the original post was in error, it's fine.

It should be "where" you eat ... and, for me, drink. That tells us even more.

Ron, just wondering but since the original title specified that this was a rumor why does the title need to be changed? I specifically made it clear that it was a rumor when I made the original post (since that is what it was) and I wanted to get more information on it, not perpetuate it.

Because people who just browse the forum index would see "Tumbleweed on the River Closing" and might not read thread, and then go tell all their friends at work, etc., etc., etc.

I don't think you did anything wrong, just didn't think it was good to have that headline out there (even with the word rumor in it) once we knew it wasn't true. But, with new thread title, all is good.
