As far as I know,.....The Keg has always been The Keg (and I grew up in the area)....

However, the place next door has been...

The Back Door Pizza(Early Seventies, Deck of cards theme, Order your pizza by phone at your table)

Cliff Hagan's Steakhouse(Mid Seventies, kinda like Frank's but better)

At one time in the late eighties an ACME Boot Outlet...

And currently an outpost of Mark's Feed Store

Kudos to you...Now that I live In the J-town area after living in Clarksville for the better part of my existence, I definitely have an excuse to travel across the Mighty Ohio, to sample some of your offerings and to get me some Clarksville Seafood

It's not beer but it is in short supply...
Now that it's legal to sell Absinthe in the US again (since this past December) will you be getting any in? There's some beautiful ones made my Jade Liquers in France that are top shelf.

Isn't that where the Ollie's Trolley Restaurant was?

We used to eat at Cliff's prior to a night of debauchery in the music clubs on MAIN/Washington/1st/2nd Streets. Good times...

Congratulations Todd!

We currently carry Absente Absinthe and we actually have an absinthe flavored vodka called Green Moon coming into the store today. Slowly but surely the distributors in the state are picking up on Absinthe.

You forgot their short lived life as an electronic store.... I've been trying the think of the name of that place all morning, but it was only there for 6-10 months.

The Action Loan next to Mark's Feedstore used to be a Dunkin Donuts, back before you had to go to Thorton's to find them. As a kid, I used to love coming to the store with my parents on Sundays to clean the place up after the weekend.... I would always slink down to Dunkin Donuts and treat myself to something.

Lewis and Clark PKWY today bears little resemblence to the Hwy 131 of yore...

I think the only things that haven't moved or closed are Arby's, Denny's, McDonald's, and of course The Keg...

As I recall there used to be a small Lounge in the back.... Is there any thought of re-opening it?

The Absinthe is $45.99 for a 750 ML bottle. It also comes with the cool spoon that you melt your sugar on.

The answer is no to the lounge..... I'll leave that business to Roger! When we closed the lounge down 6 years ago, our insurance was cut by 75%, our utilities cut in half, and our headaches dropped by 99%

Personally, It was tough to run a bar and a package store. It did not allow you to devote enough attention to both sides of the business, and as such, I think the business struggled to find its identity. Closing the lounge let us concentrate solely on the carry out business, and it helped considerably. Business has grown enough that we actually are looking to break ground on a new building on our existing lot at the end of February/beginning of March. We have simply outgrown our existing location, as well as fighting the woes of a building built in 1969 with a flat roof (anyone who has a business with a flat roof knows that it is guaranteed to leak at some point). Its going to be nasty for awhile in our lot with construction on a building with the existing building still there, but of course we can't afford to shut down for the 2 months while they are building the new one. So look for a new Keg Liquors at our existing address in the late April/early May timeframe.

What, exactly, does Absinthe taste like? I've been wanting to try it, but the green color kind of scares me...Hopefully, it isn't too awful. ;)
