Would that be the new sit-down, table-service Tony Boombozz? It's out Taylorsville Road near the Snyder, I believe. Must get out there. Must get passport in order ...

That would be the one. We got the Quattro. It was excellent!

I forgot to add that we went to Hero's a few weeks ago, and were totally impressed. The pizza was excellent, just absolutely top notch! We had tried going to Rich O's, but the place was packed (a good sign) and after driving 30 minutes to get there, my hubby decided he didn't feel like waiting, so we left. Hopefully, we'll get an opportunity to try Rich-O's soon.

I can't narrow mine down to just one. Depends on the mood I'm in. Any given day it might be Windy City, Steve-O's or Boombozz. I need to try Oak Street - those pies look great.

And not to change the subject but I just found a pizza blog

I love pizza, and occasionally, when we're feeling lazy, we'll order from Papa John's.

I'm dying to try Oak Street, Windy City, Rich-O's, and the like.

Boombozz - right! I didn't even think of that. We went for the preview tasting and it was very good! Thanks for the help!

Rich-O's business has gone through the roof. I think they need a second location.

I am kind of a big deal.

It was standing room only when we were there. I hated to leave. Just the pizza smell wafting from the place made me drool...I'm dragging his carcass back one day. As much positive feedback as the place has gotten on here, I'm betting it's excellent!

I've been a couple of times. Not awful, but basically uninspiring. I decided not to write a print-media review for now.

tony boombozz going the way of papa john?

by Jimmy R » Fri Jan 25, 2008 8:06 pm

we've been a big fan of tony boombozz in the highlands, but the last time we ordered from them, they snuck in a delivery charge, even though we're two blocks from the store, and the pizza sucked, wasn't nearly as tasty as it has always been in past. kinda the same journey papa john's took when they went from local to huge. as far as the charge, i don't think i've EVER paid for pizza delivery, ever. and that will be the last time. i wouldn't have paid it the one time, but they didn't tell us there was a charge until they got to our door.

i haven't tried the new impellizeri's on bardstown road yet, but if this forum is any indication, we'll be heading there tonight. i could find no online menu for impellizeri's, and when they first opened, i went in and requested a carryout menu, but they didn't have one. is there any way to check out their menu offerings w/o going there?

great forum, btw.

Impellizzeri's web site is http://www.impellizzeris.com.

As far as delivery charges for pizza, I thinks it's been pretty much a standard for last couple of years. With gas at $3.00 plus, drivers are spending all their tips on gas.

We even pay "fuel charges" on most supply deliveries to the restaurant.

Don't quit on Tony because he is trying to help the people who bring your pizza to you. It would cost you more to go get it.

I've never ordered pizza that didn't have a delivery charge.

In regards to Delivery Charge. I am proud to say that the $1.50 goes straight to the driver. The other's pocket a portion of the charge.

Jimmy if you send me your address I would like to send you a couple of certificates to give us another chance. But as a reminder there will be a Delivery Charge.

If your looking for free delivery then I would suggest ordering from Oak Street Pizza.

Regards,
Tony Bada Bing Bozz
