Of the places I've eaten them...

Cunninghams
Mike Linnings

are the best.

As a kid I LOVED the Rib Tavern's onion rings! Wish they were still around.

Believe or not...Cheddar's has outstanding onion rings...they are hand cut and cooked to order...very tasty and no greasy residue.

I love the ones at Jack's. Prime burger and onion rings for me please.
I always think better with a full stomach.

Have to agree with Cunningham's and Mike Linning's, although the onion loaf at Tony Roma's is to die for!

I approach onion rings in two ways:

1. As comfort food I like Frisch's....these reminds me of eating at a drive-in in the 1960s in the back seat of my dads Chevy. I know they are frozen buy they are like soul food. Crinkle cut fries are almost the same.

2. Really good fresh onion rings...actually I agree that Chedders are really good. Anymore I like the "Blooming Onion" style of battered fried onions alot.

I wonder if Frisch's has changed in the last few years, because I remember breading pounds and pounds of onion rings and fish when I worked there!! Lent in Cinci was like living on the breading line. :)

Maybe they aren't frozen, I just assumed they were. I have a soft spot in my heart for them either way!

Hill Street Fish Fry gets my vote too. Throw in a fish sandwich and a rolled oyster and I'm in heaven.

I like the Onion Strings at Famous Dave's. They suit me for a small meal. I usually get the Cajun Chicken Sandwich and they are piled on it.

I agree with Cheddar's, but not with only having good onion rings but probably the most onion rings for the monay also. I also have to agree with Mike Linnigs and Marks Feed Store.

Another great place to get onion rings that is not around here, but has some of the best I have ever eaten is Quaker Steak and Lube

Red Robin has excellent onion rings of course I've only been able to make it through a half order. They go excellent with the burgers as do the unlimited fries.

Mike Linning's also has wonderful onion rings but of course there anything fried is wonderful, now if they only were closer to home and open all year!

Almost any hand cut onion ring is pretty good assuming they are fried in the correct temperature but frozen onion rings are almost always terrible.
