Colleen,
Your home and bakery looks amazing. Good for you, and I still want to come and visit when you are ready.

Meridian makes it's own mascarpone, so I can relate to wanting to make your own cheese! I love anything with Ricotta, especially cheesecake I am not a fan of cheesecake and graham crackers ....leave that to the Jello people!

I am heading to NY on the 25th..... do I need to take orders?

In the meatime, http://www.venierospastry.com
Enjoy!

Thanks Heather. I'll let you know when we get our act together. I've told Gary that if he gets transferred again he's going to have to rent one of those little hole in the wall transient rooms somewhere because I'm not planning on moving again in my lifetime. Unless it's to the assisted-living joint with my mother-in-law.

Whole foods also has them. If you are going to ship them in... you might as well go to these places to get your fix.

They get them shipped in too.

You can always have fun and experiment by making your own. It's easy
Cannolis shells are available in the box at those establishments as well as William -Sonoma, Lotsa Pasta, and I believe Meijer.
By the way..... who are you shipping from?

Venieros? Ferrara?

I was corrected by my wife(from Boston) that are cannolis come from Mikes bakery in the North End in Boston

Mike's is amazing - we get pastries from them every time we visit relatives in MA. But if it's black & whites and whoopie pies that you want, I must respectfully submit that I make a mean version of both! And save yourself the shipping costs!

<shameless> You can sample either at the deli section at any of the Paul's Markets, and the black & whites are at Doll's Bakery too.</shameless>

(Sorry for the self-promotion - feel free to edit if it's too much!)

The only Cannoli I've had in my life are from Pompeii in Chicago and from Amici here in Louisville. I would recommend Amici, it's not as good Pompeii of course but ti's still good stuff.

NORTON COMMONS LOCATION...A NEW ITALIAN BAKERY

by Jim Greenbrier » Sat Dec 08, 2007 6:00 pm

tHEY HAVE ALREADY BROKEN GROUND....DETAILS ARE CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE.

I WOULD APPROXIMATE OPENING DATE ABOUT DERBY DAY.

ITALIAN OWNERS AND OPERATORS WILL LIVE ABOVE THE BAKERY AS MANY MERCHANTS DO WITH THEIR VARIOUS ENTERPRISES IN NORTON COMMONS.

NORTON COMMONS IS LOCATED IN NORTH EAST JEFFERSON AND OLDHAM COUNTIES CLOSE COSTCO, LOWES AS WELL AS THE SUMMIT.
