We Have a Winner! One part of your statement that is lacking in most people is the common sense part when it comes to driving in snow.

Bad weather or not, none of you can drive.

No one in this city seems to know where their turn signal is. Also, if you are in the fast lane and someone is riding your ass... that is your clue that you suck. Get over. Don't even get me started on four way stops.

I think jamming on the brakes is a more effective use of that particular teaching moment.

Are you tailgating? That is your clue that you suck. :)

But...but...what if the traffic light is out due to an electrical storm or something? It just blinks red. What do we do? How will we know whose turn it is to go? It's anarchy I tell you. Four-way whatnow?

I LOVE "break-checking" tailgaters and have mastered the proper technique. 8)

8)

I will go along with Gary, though, in one narrow perspective: If you're crusing at 45 in a 65 and hogging the left when there's plenty of room to get over, then get your butt over.

But if the entire expressway is moving at 45 in all lanes, then get off my butt and don't expect me to force merge into a full lane at my right just so you can get by.

And if I'm going 75 in the 65 but you want me to squeeze into slow traffic so you can go 85, well, hell with you, Jack.

With our cars you can just flick on the headlights, and rear lights will come on also . . . won't be break lights, but the car behind you won't know that.

What gets me here is that (in snow and ice) the people in old cars with bald tires floor it after stopping, whether for a red light or stop sign. Then, they seem dumbfounded that their tires are spinning and the car swerves sideways into adjacent lanes. Oh, well.

Yep, all that goes almost without sayin'...I mean I'm not gonna "break check" someone if -I'm- the issue (45 in a 65 for example)...otherwise the gloves are off. The best one I ever did...and the story is much better told over a couple of beers...Years ago, when I worked/lived in Ohio a guy was tailgating me on an icy secondary road...using proper break checking technique...He ended up 100 feet off the road in 12 inches of snow, in the front lawn of a church, taking out 2 or 3 five foot pine trees in the process. Needless to say he didn't -drive- the car back onto the road.

The absolute worse drives in the US= Ohio drivers. They are the king of hogging the left lane on an open road. I love it in the summer when the Ohio Navy ( pickups pulling cheap bass boats) invades the KY roads, on their way to some suitable place to vacation. God knows there is no such place up in Ohio.

As far as most Buckeyes are concerned, anything south of I-70/270 IS Kentucky...

As far as the road rage involved in tail-gating and red light beating in any weather, is it really worth it to get there a couple minutes faster?

Especially since in reality you're going to get there a few seconds faster.
