I am from Jeffersonville and have been eating Pizza King for some 25 years. I think both locations are very close in taste. I would also like to tell you that in Sellersburg there is a Pizza King now named Sir Dano's that offers a lunch buffet Monday - Friday , and a dinner buffet on the weekends. You should try it and sample all the different toppings. They also have stromboli's on the buffet.

Can anyone verify if the Southern IN Pizza King's are the same as the one in Evansville, IN?

The logo/signage seems a little different.

I ask, b/c when I was at University of Evansville, Pizza King was FAMOUS for their Stromboli. There would literally be a line out the door at 5pm every day. Don't think I ever saw one person get pizza, actually...

They are so popular they even sell them frozen, and will ship them on request. I had my friend bring me up 5 frozen last time he came up.

Anyone tried the Stromboli at the Southern IN Pizza King? I'm just wondering if it's the same place...

Pizza King is actually a chain (GASP!) I believe it was started in Muncie, IN where at the time I was there for school at Ball State, they had 17 locations in the Muncie area. I believe the shops that are here and in Evansville are franchises, but I am not sure for certain if they are company stores or franchises, but they are all tied together.

There was a Pizza King in Sellersburg that changed its name to Sir Dano's recently (I think it was actually Pizza Palace before that). It is the same pizza as Pizza King, just with out the name, which sounds like the location on State Street mentioned earlier.

Now that I think about it...Growing up I remember both the old Pasquale's in Clarksville(where the Frich's is now) and the old Mario's in Jeffersonville(in Gateway Plaza a few door's down from the first Papa John's) and both of them cut their pie into squares as well....

I really haven't ever given it much thought as to the reasons why until this thread.
