I thought I was the notorious urbanite around here 8) , but I'm pretty sure that Springhurst, a "power center," doesn't meet the limited criteria of "strip mall." And yeah, having crowds pouring out of movies at Tinseltown looking for something like a pizza are probably non-trivial.

Campus or no, I don't see Cardinal Towne as a destination that's alive with traffic after the sun goes down.

We went there for lunch on Friday and the location is very nice. Even though it's in a strip mall setting the interior decor is quite nice and hospitable. The food is as good as the original location and the menu as mentioned is greatly expanded. Once they get the outside courtyard in operation it will be a very nice location and should do very well!

We closed the Cardinal Blvd. location for multiple reasons. Night time business and weekend business being a big factor as well as being promised to be put on the student meal plan and that never happened. Our format out in the east end is a little different than our format in Highlands, we have an expanded menu, table service, & a full bar. We are able to seat a lot more people as well. We offer the same great pizza as our Highlands location, 18", by the slice, and the addition of a 12" pie and a variety of appetizers, salads, & desserts. We will also offer daily pasta and panini / sandwich specials.

Thanks,
Allan Rosenberg

I remember there was a kickoff event in a tent, announcing some of the tenants of Cardinal Towne. Homerun, Qdoba, and some other folks were there. A few of the groups were very excited about being on the meal plan. Interesting that what seemed to be promised, or implied, never happened. I wondered then how that would work given the University doesn't have any involvement in Cardinal Towne. Glad to hear about the new Papalinos. Im sure it will do great!

My wife and I stopped in the other night and had a GREAT meal. The margherita pizza was one of the best pizzas I've ever had (the balsamic drizzle was key). We shared a house salad which was great. Couple of Great Lakes Xmas beers on tap. I left very happy.

The pizza prices were higher than I first expected (the 12" pizza was $21 or $22 I think), but I guess you get what you pay for. The 18" was only a few bucks more, and the moral of the story is that we should have gotten the big one and taken home leftovers. We shoveled down the 12" in record time - it was that good. Beer prices were very fair. Large salad was $8. Bottom line is we'll be back a lot.
