My bakery is right around the corner on Hancock and I have never been in there. Mainly because I buy cases and Creation Gardens used to be a block and a half away. I want to take a field trip with the employees down there but it keeps slipping my mind. A buddy told me about the sausages being made in the basement which intrigues me.. but I have also heard of some rough and tumble activities going on there and in the parking lot. I'm not scared (Louisville ain't got nothing on walking the streets of Belize City, Guayaquil, Ecuador and SW Baltimore and/or most of Memphis, Tennessee..) but I just haven't found time to go. Will check out! :)

I really don't see the point in slamming them in public unless you bought product with which you were unhappy.

Richard, I don't feel like I was slamming them. The only reason I went in there was because of what was said on the forum so I wanted to give my honest opinion of what I found. I saw cans of peas for $1.57 that is way more than I would see at Meijer or Kroger, the shelves were being dusted by employees and were partially empty, there were probably 1 or 2 other shoppers in the store and this was at noon and the pillows in the frig case topped everything. I know the place is mainly there for the senior high rise across the street but in any case I was not impressed. We were very uncomfortable.

Remember the old Winn-Dixie's? Some folk swore by them. I, personally, hated shopping there because the lighting in them was so bizarre. I can understand how Bev might be put off by those surroundings. $1.57 for a can of peas would have irked me too.
