Yeah little kings are still around! 8pk 7oz bottles can be had at bigger liquor stores locally for about $5-6. Or 4 pegs beer lounge sells them at their bar for either $1 or $1.50.

I saw Hamm's 30pk cans at the Thorntons off exit 0 for $10.99(!!!). With a price like that you know it has to be good. Not available in the Louisville market though.

One of the foulest beers I have ever drank was Drummond Bros. In my early 20s, a couple buddies and me were camping at Deam Lake and decided to stay another night. Between us, we scraped together enough cash and change in our cars (about 25 bucks) for the campsite, a pack of hot dogs and buns, and 2 warm cases of the aforementioned Drummond Bros. and a couple bags of ice. After about the fifth one, it really didn't matter as the reason we were imbibing such heinous swill was apparently working...

Twenty Five Bucks? Dang, Dan, you must have been hanging out with quite the trendy set.

I remember back in the misspent days of my yoot at college, when Old Milwaukee kegs ran rampant on the Northern Illinois U. campus. It was the cheapest around, and if my memory serves me was brewed (to use the term loosely) by Schlitz. We called it Old Pisswaukee. But it was beer and presented with the advertised beer buzz.

Somebody upthread mentioned Old Style. Quite frankly, that was my beer of choice when I became a working schlub and it was still brewed by G. Heileman. And if I was REALLY flush I would pop for a 6 pack of Special Export. If I came up short between paychecks it was Stroh's, which a buddy of mine liked to point out was "shorts" spelled backwards.

Me too, but I don't think the new Falls City has a lot in common with the old Falls City. Well, maybe possibly back in our grandparents' day, but how are you going to check that out?
Robin, I *think* that the "new" Falls City has a lot in common with the Old, old Falls City! Evidently, it was originally a really good "ale" (in the '30's - what our grandparents would've drank) , that became a really crappy "lager" (in the '70's - what we would've drank), and has now returned to being a pretty good "ale", again.
