Re: Johnny Brusco's - will the third time be a charm ?

Maybe it's just because ill behaved kids stand out so obviously. No one selects a restaurant because the kids are always well behaved but bad ones, especially on a consistent basis, can sure have a negative effect. And I love kids, work with them everyday. I love kids but not lazy parents.

Thanks Carla, I think this is exactly what Steve was saying and totally agree!

I've been hanging around a large local hospital on a summer job assignment. One of my regular routes takes me past the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (N-ICU). I usually stop and look in, even when I'm running by in a hurry. Seeing these fragile tiny babies, and watching their parents in their worry and fear, definitely helps me adjust my attitude when I start feeling curmudgeonly about youngsters letting their emotions run.

I mostly find it sad and pathetic. I recommend libraries. They seem more your speed.

Moving on...

You seem a bit sensitive to my remarks....the parent of a crust slinging two year old perhaps ? 8)

In retrospect I really wish I had worded the lead paragraph in my O.P. a bit differently, as my "issue" is really not with children...they are after all just being "kids". My issue is with the parents who seemingly either don't -care- that their child's behavior is ruining a dining experience for other patrons...OR...they are largely lacking it parenting skills and thus unable to address their childs inappropriate behavior. While this type of thing can happen in (almost) any dining location, it appears to, if not be condoned, at least openly tolerated in this particular establishment, thus my "heads up" to members of the forum.

As somewhat of an interesting (for me anyway) side-bar to my O.P...in two of the instances of misbehavior I described, the "parents" were actually sitting at a different table than the children (you know, the old "kids table" - "grownups table" thing) with several pitchers of beer in various states of consumption in front of them...Now I don't claim to know how they do things in Kentucky...but in Minnesota, transporting minor children in a vehicle while under the influence is a felony....
