Re: Discussion of Robin Garr's Mussel & Burger Bar review

by Eric Hall » Mon Apr 15, 2013 10:48 am

I have had absolutely nothing to complain about in the food or service department at Mussel & Burger Bar. In fact, a couple of the mixed drinks (particularly the margarita) were some of the best my wife and I have ever had.

I will echo Shanes statement regarding the beer. They have an excellent list but draft is mysteriously absent. Not to mention many of the beers on the list come in a 22 oz bottle. 22 oz bottles of big beers are a bit more than i want to indulge in during dinner. And my wife and I's beer preferences often differ.

A draft system is not expensive and allows for higher profit margins. The place is huge so I imagine they can squeeze a 6-8 tap keg box into the bar area somewhere.

Another pet peeve is listing "Sam Adams Seasonal" or "3 Floyds Seasonal" on the drink menu. Since I am in the drinks business, chances are I can guess what the seasonal beers are but the average consumer might not be able to. Take the time to print out a list nightly/weekly with the names/styles of the beers.
