They do not serve sushi but offer excellent sashimi on the weekend. They typically get varieties of fish that you would not find anywhere outside of Japan.
For sushi in Lexington, you should check out Sugano. It is in a shady strip mall but don't let that fool you; they serve some seriously great sushi. I've tried fugu here; giant oysters; rare varieties of clam - the selection is very good. There are hand-written menus on the walls (in Japanese, of course). If you ask the waitresses what the specials are, they will gladly inform you. Sugano-san will love you if you buy him a beer...
To me, the Japanese fare in Lexington is perhaps the only reason to leave Louisville.
