Went by tonight. 50 minute wait.
While I think these guys are some of the most creative chefs in town and I sing their praises to the heavens...I wish they would rent buildings that can seat more customers. We run into the same problem commonly at Hammerheads.
I guess my wife and I will try to sneak in on Monday.

Rick and I went Saturday night about 9. We had about a 10 minute wait.

Started with Scotch Eggs. I asked how they did them. I was told they boil them for 5-6 minutes, chill, peel, bread, chill, then fry per order. They were amazing. While we got the last order of the eggs of the night, another dinner near us was having to do without. We struck up a conversation with him, and ended up trading an egg for a piece of his tar tar. (BTW....he's a chef. We plan on going to his restaurant next Louisville meal!!!)

We order meatballs from every meat. They were fantastic!!!!! The wasabi ketchup was great with many of them, and the marrow mayo was a great pairing also. My fav was the duck and the antelope.

Don't skip the salad! We had the grilled ceasar. Yummy! Of course, we HAD to have duck fat fries too.

We were so full that we were not going to have dessert. Our neighboring dinner offered me a bite of the foie gras topped funnel cake with a orange marmalade/white wine/rosemary sauce. OMG! SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good!!!!

Can't wait to go again!

As a new establishment, I am sure many of you would love to try the place. They have an acute parking issue and please do not park at August Moon. It is an insurance liability issue and we are resorting to towing the cars. Thank you.

So I turned 41 today, and given my love for all things Hammerheads I veered off my plans to do Charim (Korean) tonight and instead went by Game to see if we could grab a seat.
We managed to get in with only a ten minute wait, which was awesome. And the food was as good as its always been at Hammerheads. Their shtick here seems to be burgers done with wild and unusual meats such as antelope, ostrich, elk, kangaroo, etc etc.
They had the signature Hammerheads fries which you can order with a side of the same house made sauces used to dress the burgers with. They had house made onion rings on the menu which I was eager to try, but our waitress claimed they werent offering those anymore. To difficult to make.

As I said the food was as good as always.

I would however suggest waiting a few weeks to go, while they get the service details ironed out.

We initially waited on by a young man, who then seemed to abandon us after getting us water. Later watching what he was doing it seemed he was only supposed to be bussing and greeting people at the door.

A new waitress appeared, apologized and took our drink and food orders. We ordered the Scotch eggs, which appear in the menu under the heading "Starters". Which would lead one to believe they are appetizers?

We also ordered two burgers, two orders of fries and two custom dipping sauces.

My order of fries came out far before anything else. When I told the waiter (not our waitress) dropping them at our table that we had ordered the Scotch Eggs as an appetizer, his response was "we bring the food out while its hot and fresh. You will get the eggs eventually." My thought was, well damn good thing I didnt order dessert then! They might have brought that out first!

Come to find out the waitress never fired the order for our eggs. Which finally came long after we had our burgers and everything else. I had them still bring them simply so I could try them.

Finally our bill came and none of our alcoholic beverages were on our check. I assumed the waitress comped them due to the problems with our order? Luckily for her I was an honest guy and asked first though. Nope, she hadnt comped them. For whatever reason they simply hadnt put them on the bill. She added one beer and comped the other two rewarding my karma and honesty at least partially.

Quite simply the food is just as good as it was at Hammerheads and they have a hellacious beer menu. But give them a week or two to work out the service kinks.
I eat, therefore I am.

"We bring the food out when it's hot and ready" is a standing policy at Hammerheads, which they say is because their kitchen is so small they have to do it that way. If they're carrying the same policy over to Game, they need to be clear about that on the menus and such.

Which maybe the case, but as a long time fan and frequent customer of Hammerheads Ive never had a side item for a main entree delivered before the rest of the meal, and the starter delivered after the meal was nearly completed. Last night was a first for us.

Tried to get in Wednesday and it was jam packed! The parking lot is tiny, and Peng Looi was in the August Moon lot making sure folks don't use it. Space is a real premium. It was a 45 minute wait, so we decided to hit Hammerheads. It was jam packed too, and another 45 minute wait.

We went home instead.

Is there on-street parking to be had ( and then you just walk)? I saw Looi's posting and of course August Moon can't have their parking spaces take up by guests of a different restaurant.

I parked across the street on the side of the brick wall next to KT's lot. Also, I think if you pull in next to the little white house looking business there is a lot there you can use. Not sure though.

So finally went early on Friday and got in.

To answer your question Deb, yes as others have said there is parking across the street by KT's. The parking lot itself maybe has 8 small spaces at most, that are not pull in spaces, but with some crafty parallel parking skills you can get in.

The food is out of this world, and the menu is really cool. The service is great but with all the menu options and combinations, and all the guests they got weeded fast. I expect this will change as things die down over the coming weeks. It is really good, and the Kangaroo is a must.

Or, here's a thought for the warmer weather that will (hopefully) be approaching soon - they are right on the bike path from Cherokee Park, and perhaps the ownership would be enlightened enough to install a bike rack. Then people could bike through the park to reach them...with the double bonus of having expended a few extra calories to consume on the duck-fat fried goodness!
