Let me know the best way to reserve, Mr. D.

sounds like this was quite an event...perhaps in the future you can let me know where to send my bribe so that I can be included in the next one, Stephen.

Or if I am some on sort of "undesirables" list, let me know. I probably deserve it.

Well dangit. Dan, you were at the top of the reservation list. Like #4 if memory serves...

We learned a few things this year:

a) We had a bunch of last-minute cancelations. A lot of people were sick, some got hit with the last minute home entertaining crunch. We'll have to think about that next year.

b) Robin's right- I'll have to do a better job next time I take inspiration and do a viral dinner like that. Organize it a little better, I suppose.

c) Ok, I had it in my head that with an introductory cocktail, everybody would adjourn to the Private Dining Room to begin with. Well that was wrong. Everybody began in the bar! Fine enough- I had already prepped the FOH for some cocktailing. They did great- Kudos to the FOH and David Erdley, the floor manager for a quick shift on the staging area.

The kitchen ran smooth as a baby's bum- I was real happy with Alan and his work. Ganka and Miquel are rocks too.

Thanks everybody for coming out! It truly was a special event chock-full of some people that are very special to me. And some new friends, whom I'd love to get to know a little better.

See you next year!

Just wanted to pop in and add to the chorus.

Barbara and I had a wonderful evening with great friends and food! Kudos to Majid and staff for a very inventive and delicious menu, and wonderful service.

Stephen, just saw this...my bad. To explain, I was hoping for some kind of response from you to let me know the appropriate course of action.

But it seems you were much more proactive than I realized, and I am now embarrassed at being a no-show. I certainly could have sent a pm or followed up myself, although I didn't want to come on too strong. This attendance blemish on my record will not be taken lightly.

Again, apologies, and I will come in to Majid's again soon, as I have had nothing but positive experiences and have been planning my next visit for far too log.

It's kind of funny, Dan- I reached out to some of the forumites as a reminder and to firm up the guest list...

But the folks I knew to be solid regulars, I didn't. It was more of a time management thing for me. I took for granted that the people, like you, got the memo.

We all have crazy lives. I have a toddler that requires my attention, a restaurant that feeds him, website(s) that I work my butt of for, never mind the daily chores around the house...

Next time I will practice a little better due dilligence, promise.
