You'll be getting your flying car about a week after the east end bridge opens, hope you look good in a spandex jumpsuit with a propelller hat.

Flying Food Trucks so we don't have to worry about all this asphalt...beam me down a (Free Range chicken grown in a German Town back yard coop) Taco, a side of beans (without lard of course) and a craft beer acclimated to my own genetic structure..

Staying off topic, bike lanes only work if cyclists use them and stay off the sidewalk. As a former cyclist (I live close enough to walk now and do so when I can), I am always dismayed to see persons on bicycles on the sidewalk. I realize some are scared to enter traffic and some are maybe not savvy to the ways of bicycles as a means of transportation, but at the end of the day the bike does not belong on the sidewalk. I've gone down Market street many times and have been one of five bikes in the bike lane, the rest, on the sidewalk. Police need to enforce the rules of the road both for bike safety and for proper usage. As for aggressive drivers, I'm not above denting a few hoods of those who have no respect. (yeah I said it).

I have lived near and used LowBrow (I like that for some reason) for over 15 years and have never had a problem with pedestrians or making a turn. I also think 4 lanes is better for the morning commute than 2. That light at Mellwood is going to stack up fast and the back up is going to make everything in the Cliffside Plaza area a nightmare.

Not only that, but it made the Sushi guy so angry he is leaving. It's lose-lose all over the place!

I commute to downtown that way every morning. Traffic already stacks up only in the left lane, and it seldom backs up past Drescher Bridge Ave. The only people who use the right lane are those turning right on Mellwood, and the occasional speed demon who likes to blaze down there and cut over to the left at the last second.

Yes, I know you think I'm crazy but it's going to happen.

The bigger part of this problem was that if it was truly a moped and not a motor scooter it's not street legal!

I'm not well versed enough in the differences to say for sure - and even if someone showed me pictures I couldn't definitively say if I saw mopeds or motor scooters.

I disagree with your assessment of the problem. Although I'm opposed to the illegal use of roadways, the choice of a person (or group of persons) to illegally use the roadway doesn't excuse the use of a car as a potential weapon. Yes, the police should enforce traffic code. That said, it's just a really really bad idea for a person to use a vehicle in an aggressive manner regardless of the reason. Just astoundingly bad. Is it really that difficult to take a deep breath, saw a few choice words in the privacy of your own vehicle, and wait patiently for the ability to pass? The vehicles were traveling eastbound, so they were all of .1 mile from the road opening up to two lanes in each direction.

I'm prob getting off topic here, but, as a cyclist, I see a reoccurring event that just scares the shit out of me. Automobile driver passes me in a blind area (up and over a hill, around a blind curve, etc.). Clearly the driver is more interested in getting by me than taking the time to consider if passing me at that given point is a good idea. The thinking is just so damn myopic ... must pass bike, must pass bike, must pass bike ... with no consideration of the larger context.

I'm not a bike rider, nor much of a walker ( even on the East End where sidewalks are good) , but I totally agree. There is no excuse for behavior that has a real potential to seriously hurt someone.

I visited I Love Sushi today for a final lunch. The food was good, as always, but I was disappointed that I was the only customer (this was shortly after 1 p.m.). I was hoping they'd get a rush of business during their last week.

How much of a hassle was the street construction? I'm guessing that outside of rush hour it's not anything to write home about, but I could be wrong ...

The lane closings make things a little confusing, but there was no traffic congestion early this afternoon. They've got one lane open in each direction, and if you're eastbound it's still possible to turn left into the lot at I Love Sushi. But I'm sure rush hour will be a different story.

Jerry C wrote:My son, his college roommate, and I went to I Love Sushi and Teriyaki Sunday afternoon (6/24). The road construction on lower Brwonsboro makes you feel like a worm going through a maze!

When I asked the owner how it was affecting his business he "went off"! He was calling the city/state (who ever is in charge of this mess), every thing in the book (some which can't even be repeated here).

He indicated they had scoured the road this past Monday and made all the lane changes with 1,000 road cones, then left it that way the rest of the week with no additional work. He indicated that it was supposed to take 2 months before they finish.

Then he surprised us by saying he was closing the restaurant for good at the end of this month! Man was he pissed.

He did indicate he might reopen in another location, but I doubt he will ever re-open on lower Brownsboro.

I really don't understand who wanted this 3 lane crap anyway.

I just had dinner there and asked the owner about his plans to close. Although he was not happy with the road construction, that wasn't the reason he was closing. The reason is the overall lack of business and he would close, construction or not. He was of the opinion that the location isn't so good.

He also said that it was his intention to reopen in or near St Mathews and that he was shooting for October this year,

butterfly.
When I used to administer that test, that had to be the most popular response, for pretty much any inkblot.

Fun test to give, fun (not) test to score.
