I took a detour on my lunch time walk to go past city hall. The food trucks were doing a booming business, with some lines (at 11:30) 25 people deep. As luck would have it I brown-bagged my lunch, but fortunately I had room for dessert. I stopped by the lovely Leah's truck and picked up some goodies to share at work, as well as a little something to take home to My Sweetie.

Those cake pops are molto delizioso!

Food Truck Tuesday was amazing, and that's not a word I throw around lightly. All the trucks sold out of food, the Mayor was extremely pleased with the turnout and wants to do it again! Only next time with music! It was a roaring success. I hope that many of you were there.

I was handing desserts out the window so fast, I couldn't even Facebook about the event. And you know that's rare for me. Heck I didn't even get a single Tweet out.

Mary Anne I always Fb where I am the minute I park. My Fb and Tweets also feed my website, www.LouisvilleDessertTruck.com. In the Med Center, I try to get on Chestnut, frequently near Preston. The four spaces in front of JADAC are sweet parking spaces too.

I drove by and saw A LOT of people waiting in line. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to find a parking spot and wait myself today; but I 'm looking forward to the next one!

I met the wife downtown today to try this Food Truck Bonanza.......WOW!! It was packed! Our first choice was Holy Mole but the line was too long. We settled on some delicious sandwiches from the San Diego Sandwich Works truck. They were both fantastic. What a great idea for them all to display their talents.

We've got a commitment to hold Food Truck Tuesday once a month. We'd like to do it weekly, but baby steps. I suspect that if it was a weekly event we wouldn't be so slammed but that it would be a steady good day of business for us. Any way, this is new for all of us - trucks and Metro. So far, so good!

Cool! Great to hear it was a success!

Now if only Mayor Fischer would take this forward thinking approach to the downtown bridge mess this city would be even more awesome. :)

That's great to hear. I made sure to come by early, because I knew trucks would sell out. I hit One Hot Tamale. Really enjoyed my plate of 4 spicy tamales. Well, OK, I could only eat 3 of them. The sides (pinto beans and Spanish rice) could've used a bit more oomph, but I'd definitely go back for more tamales.

Great news, Leah! Congratulations! ! Monthly should be perfect- keeps interest up, and doesn't cause conflict with the brick & mortar places downtown.

Man- I wish I worked downtown again ( never thought I'd say that).
