We had a really close call out here. Barns are down around us and a good bit of of damage from large hail. Our greenhouses (unbelievable)survived the winds and hail with just minor damage. We have a friends with greenhouse who lost almost all of their spring crops.
The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

Facebook update from a friend:

We need your help in getting the word out. Southeast's Country Lake Christian Retreat in Henryville is FULLY equipped and ready to take on ANY and ALL guests affected by the tornado - no cost.

Country Lake's Ross Knecht is telling us - "We have tons of food, blankets and supplies. We are equipped to sleep 300 and feed more than 1000. We currently only have about 15 people here so we need to get the word out."

Bill P reports via Facebook that he spoke with Shane Campbell and he is OK...some damage at home.

Ed Vemillion reports via Facebook that Cindy's family was located and is safe (in West Liberty).

Glad to hear John and Annie came out OK...was worried about ya.

An acquaintance of mine posted this Saturday on www.ClarkCountyChatter.com:

I am on the Board of Directors of the Clark County Red Cross. I was there
last night until midnight and then today from 8 am to about 4. The phones
have been ringing non-stop with wonderful people wanting to help. Many want
to donate food, clothing, supplies, chain saws, generators, pickup trucks
and money. The outpouring of generosity from this community is
overwhelming -- and not only from this community. Many people from northern
Indiana, Michigan and Ohio have responded as well.

Right now they are asking people to please not try to go to the area unless
requested by the sheriff's dept. There will also be a curfew in the
Henryville area from 6 p.m tonight until 6 a.m. tomorrow. The Red Cross has
been coordinating with the Salvation Army and area churches and others to
provided needed items. Pepsi Cola and Coca-Cola have donated water and soft
drinks; several grocery chains have been compiling truckloads of food and so
many clothes have been taken to the Salvation Army in Clarksville that we
have had to ask people to stop as there isn't enough space for them all.

Right now I would suggest that people who want to help can do two things:

1) Continue to collect food, clothes, supplies etc and donate them to your
local church for later distribution and

2) Donate money to the Red Cross or the Salvation Army.

Those of you who want to physically help need to contact the Red Cross first
and get registered. If you have medical training, contact the sheriff's dept
to see if they need additional help -- or if you can operate chainsaws or
other equipment, call the number posted earlier.

On behalf of the Clark County Red Cross, I would like to thank all of you
for caring so much. God bless you.

Several people that work for me have lost everything and a former nurse at my hospital lost his life. Donate to the Red Cross - they are the experts at this.

Great point. The Red Cross can always use 1) money 2) blood.
