Yeah, it's a flawed poll in that it fails to allow an option for those who cannot honestly vote for any of the listed choices. I thought about ticking one, but "Hate the least" does not translate to "like" for me. I won't buy those brands; I can't vote for those brands.

I wouldn't call it any more flawed then some of the other stuff I've seen posted. It was a legitimate question and just because it doesn't have an "opt out" or "local" option or otherwise tickle your fancy doesn't make it any more or any less valid.

I disagree, given the nature of the forum it would be more flawed to include only eat local pizza option. We know folks like local here, if you would order pizza from a national chain, which one do you like the best? If not, don't vote.

I don't know where this review is but it looks like you've at least tried Papa Murphy.

Let us know what you think, Becky. I gave it a fairly decent review when it came to town - taking a hot pizza out of your own oven gives you a slight edge over a pizza that's had time to cool in the box.

I've tried all five of them, Brian. It's my job. That doesn't mean I care to vote in this poll, based on its wording.

Steve, you'd have no reason to know the principles of standard research methodology. Brian speaks well of his business chops, though, so I would expect him to.

Quite a catch there. You got him! Looks like the review was from about 8 years ago.

[pedantic]
The design of a poll/survey is driven by the desired information. So, since the pollster in this case doesn't care about the opinion of foodies who never eat at national pizza chains or have no opinion of same, this is a perfectly designed poll for his purposes.

He learns nothing that he wishes to know from a collection of non-of-the-above answers , notwithstanding the emotional satisfaction some would experience by entering such a response.

Let's take you spending your money on them out of the picture.

You're at an event. You're hungry, with no prospects of getting anything else to eat anytime soon.

Pizzas from the five options listed are sitting on the table in the room where you are.

Which do you choose? Or do you go hungry?

Let's be honest and clarify the truth, Robin. I don't speak of my background or credentials. You've brought them to light on this forum before. The only source of that would be 1) your Google skills or 2) clicking on the link to my webpage that I used to use as a signature.

If you disagree with this statement, you are not telling the truth. And I'd challenge you to find any post in my history where I've ever mentioned my "business chops". You can't do it because I haven't done what you are stating.

This is a good example of you using something you brought to light to make someone else look like they're bragging (me). It is very sly but also very unbecoming. (not to mention poking fun at Steve in the same post).

Now for ME to state MY credentials, I'm not a statistics major but I have had many hours of graduate level business marketing work on research methodology and statistics as it relates to business marketing.

To ever consider or compare a simple forum poll to ever meet statistically accepted standards is simply ludicrous.

Although a poll has some value here for this audience, in this scenario it's pretty much just for entertainment purposes.

I think it's a pretty cool poll. Certainly an interesting look at the "dark side" so to speak.

I have to say that when I was in school Papa Johns was brought in by the truck loads and the association with that particular time in my life make it tough to entertain eating it again - but on Steve's word I'll try it at some point. I see it's being advertised on this site - I didn't know they were a Hot Bytes sponser.
