Dan, you are probably too young to have experienced the original Ollie's (1972-73). I managed them in their first years when they were prepared medium rare with excellent beef and the original spice mix. We tested and verified the fat content of every batch of beef at the Trolley before it was used. Then we cooked them in a waffle type griddle to quickly sear and seal in the juices instead of on a grill as they do today. An original Ollie Burger was the best burger there ever was. Ollie fries were pretty darn good too. Original Trolley Rating = 99.
Today's Ollie Burger that I tasted last summer from the Trolley on third street did not compare to the real thing. Third Street Trolley Rating = 72. Take that Robin! :D

10. Corbett's. Gotta give Dean some love here.

9. Cumberland Brews. Really good pub food and tasty beer.

8. Every time my cousin and his family come to town we go to Vietnam Kitchen, so Vietnam Kitchen.

7. Don't do a lot of business lunches, but Shalimar is close to where I work and the buffet is a real bargain.

6. Can't pick just one: Mayan Cafe, Havana Rumba, El Mundo.

5. Las Gorditas is the very definition of cheap, quick and satisfying.

4. There are a lot of great places downtown and nearby, but I'll chose Garage Bar for the country ham and my favorite pizza in town that isn't Impellizzeri's.

3. My comfort food place is Impellizzeri's. Those breadsticks and an original pizza with homemade sausage, that's my kind of comfort food.

2. The salad bar at Jason's Deli can be healthy if you chose right.

1. Right now this would be The Holy Grale. The food has never been less than stellar, the beer list is world class, the beertenders know my name and always have great beer recommendations, and the venue is just really cool.
