I visited yesterday - very close to the KRA office. Kelly and her staff are ready and waiting to serve you! I had a delicious lunch.

No mention of the new location on their website. Seems like that would be an excellent place to market this new venture.

Even more incredible - the St Matthews location doesn't have a phone number for Middletown (I just called) - and directory assistance doesn't either. Looks like I can't call to order takeout, I have to go there, order, wait for them to cook it and then bring it back, which sort of defeats the purpose of getting takeout in the first place... This seems like kind of a FAIL to me....

If anyone has a phone number for them I'd love to have it!

Damn! I was just going to do the same thing based on Melissa's suggestion...Those wasabi dumplings were sounding really good in my congested state.

The number for Simply Thai in Middletown is 690-8344

I highly recommend the Tom Yum soup for congested states, Deb!!

Just got back, cold but main roads were pretty clear. If you love Simply Thai in St. Mathews you will love their Middletown location. The menu is 95% the same with the other 5% several new appetizers (Curry Puffs, Simply Roll, Thai Pepper). There may be other new items that I did not notice comparing the Middletown carryout menu to the St. Matthews' web site menu. Prices, IF the St. Matthews menu is up-to-date, are basically the same. Some items are "rounded-up" from, for example, $5.99 to $6.00 even. Appetizers were the same price to + $.50. Pad Thai was the same (+ $.01) but the lunch portion was actually $.50 less?! The sushi menu on the website would not open so I could not compare pricing. A couple people mentioned the Wasabi Dumplings. They are on the Middletown menu.

Taste-quality-quantity - no better way to say it that it is exactly the same St. Matthews' standards. Our Pad Thai and Red Curry entrees were St. Mathews perfect.

Thanks to Linda for the advice on the Tom Yum soup - excellent. Now our biggest problem will be deciding between Jasmine Chinese and Simple Thai. And . . .

As a final note, there is a take-out only Tea Station Chinese Bistro just east of the Lake Forest-English Station Road area - on the left, in the small shopping center next to the Thornton's. My understanding is that it is the same folks as Norton Common, but again, take-out only. Have not had a chance to try. Man, THREE of them, within a mile of the house - a good dilemma.

I tried all these at the St Matthews location last weekend and they were all good to great.

Sorry I missed you Gayle- I was there yesterday too. :D

Thanks to Melissa & Linda- both the wasabi dumplings and the Tom Yum soup were excellent. The two Pad noodle dishes we ordered were also great.

A note on comparison to St. Matthews- several people I know who are very familiar with the St. Matthews location noted that the Middletown location food is "significantly less spicy". My Malayasian colleague who said she wouldn't order a 5 -level spice at St. Matthews as it's a little too spicy, said her 5 level at St. Matthews was significantly less. I heard this same comment from several different people ( with varying spice tolerances). Don't know if this is by plan, or based on the chef on-duty at each location.

I got a level 5 pad thai at Middletown and I have to say I didn't think about it until you mentioned this but it did seem less spicy. However I asked the server and she said they will go up to whatever level you want beyond 5.

We have been fans of Simply Thai for a few years now and have noticed that the heat level has been on the slide. We used to get a #3 and found it to be perfect, but the last few times we left craving more heat. Maybe they have scaled the heat back at both locations.
