I do think it has a reputation as being pricey, though. Maybe the prix fixe creates that impression, but I just don't think people see it as a venue for a cheap date. Especially if you choose wine to match the quality of the meal, and most people do.

That's true about the reputation, I've noticed that sometimes guests can experience a little "sticker shock" upon receiving the bill. Perhaps the reason is the 18% gratuity plus 6% sales tax, which is not reflected in the prix-fixe prices. We do have some reasonably-priced wines (ie. ~$40 or so) on the list, it's not like it's solely $100+ Burgundies or nothing at all. Though one thing I'd like to see eventually is a better beer list, of course.

Morton's steaks = overrated and overpriced.

Fooled me twice, my fault.
There will not be a third swing.

I must give an honorable mention to their sides, but I have had many steaks better and cheaper than Morton's.

Ryan,

Did you ever get any response back from your letter to the writer at Business First?

I did, actually traded a few emails back and forth with the writer. She basically stated that the subject and its title had been in place since 2002 which was before her arrival at Business First. She went on to say that it comes across better in the printed version than it does in the blog, but would bring up the (what I deemed misleading) title during their next meeting.

She didn't bite on my suggested titles which included, "Where to Dine on the Company Dollar".
