I usually take staff outings to Milltown for canoeing down the Blue River, quite a bit of the staff looks forward to going every year :D

On another note the Blue River is spring fed and is one of the cleanest rivers in the country

The river is beautiful and peaceful outing. In addition, just down the road is Marengo Cave:

Back in the days of the old Louisville Times, the news staff used to enjoy an annual summer tradition of tubing down the Blue. Nothing much better than relaxing on a tubing tour of the river, with a six-pack in tow. That's when I learned that six-packs float.

I can recall one year when my choice was Australian, Foster's in the "Big Barrel" cans. Even in those days, the Times reporters were somewhat yuppified.

Bill,
Would you consider coordinating an offsite that included a canoe trip ending at Milltown with a meal at the cafe when the season is right? I've haven't done it (canoe) since I was a teenager and I've been wanting to. I know how essential it is to take advantage of good river conditions and as you are located nearby you are the best judge of that.

Do foodies float?
I'm a bitter drinker....I just prefer it that way

Only if you hollow them out and toss 'em in the river.

Imported by a local company, I'm sure.

Shane,

Sure. Although this may be difficult to pull off given the unpredictability of river levels and an irrational fear by many here of crossing the state line.

We "can" float the idea in late Spring and see if it gains traction.

PS: It would probably be wise to have the Harrison and Crawford County EMS/Rescue squads on standby.
