Marsha Wins Again!!!

I don't know anything about a connection with the owner. And I guess I should have said "every year people SAY they stuff the ballot box". It's just kind of like a joke amongst the competitors. Like Steve said, their chili doesn't seem to be anything to write home about. People seem to love our chili and dozens promise to vote, so I don't know what goes on when they count the ballots.

However, it's just a small $100 cash prize, we're much happier with the big win in the Restaurant Division, but it would be nice to know who the "People's Choice" really is, and whether we are up near the top of those ratings. Totally happy with "Judges' Choice," however.

I think the fact that it's only a $100 prize helps to keep things in perspective....no one is going to make a big stink about that amount of money despite the exceptionally strong circumstantial evidence of ballot stuffing (a phrase I will use in lieu of the word "fact")...Kick it up to $1000 and there would be all kinds of pissing and moaning.

I'm just glad someone that works as hard at it as Marsha won the Big Kahuna catagory. A well deserved win.

I'd also like to throw some compliments in the direction of Baxter Station for their "pinkish-colored" chili garnished with blue cheese crumbles and chopped green onion. They were close to the entrance while I waited for my date to find a parking space, and I was nursing a hangover. I plied an opening in the crowd around their table a couple of times to maintain the wait. Very very tasty stuff. Did they place with the judges?

Also, was Dan there? I heard he was going to be, but could't find him.
