Art Modell was the turncoat owner of the Browns that signed them over to Baltimore in November of 1995.
I like many other Browns fans are still on a "death watch" for him.

Steve P. if you are listening...Diamonds Bar & Grille in St. Matthews have jumped on the Browns bandwagon there are some fine, educated, outstanding citizens that flock in there to watch them every Sunday 8)

So what I hear you saying is that Diamonds is a cut above the current standard bearer and may in fact attract a crowd who likely possess a diploma of some sort, doesn't punctuate every sentence with an "f-bomb" and who probably own a full set of teeth. Hell, that sounds like a pretty high highfalutin' place by comparison, let's give it a try for a game sometime.

...And yes, I am also on "Death Watch" for Art Model...and invite EVERYONE to join the effort to keeping Art out of the HOF: https://www.facebook.com/keepartout Not sure what I'll do when Art finally kicks...maybe join in the party on Public Square in Cleveland.

Man, I envy you all! I never had a home team in pro ball.

So I just watch for the players. You know me- I love a good defense. Ray Lewis, Brian Urlacher, Palomalu. Nothing makes me happier that to watch (and hear) a bone crushing hit, just to watch the sender help the reciever up off the field with a 'lil tap on the butt.

Gawd I love football-look forward to this every year!

PS> Michael Vick was a lot of fun to watch, at the beginning- made everybody on the field look like fools. Too bad...

Too bad Louisville can't afford a pro team. Cincy is close, but when you look at it we have 5 or 6 teams within a 4 hour drive. How do you pick a favorite team, without having a, "home" team? So most of us "natives" have picked their teams for any reason, I have mine. GO PACK My 2 fav teams are Packers and whoever is playing the Cowboys. Jerry Jones is an "owner" and not a fan. You don't FIRE Tom Landry. That is just downright rude. He is on my hit list. Here is a good football story. Tom Landry and Charlie Brown ( AKA Charles Schulz) both died a couple of days apart. The local paper in Tom Landry's hometown, McAllen, TX, (lived there for a few yrs) ran a picture of Tom, with his arm around Charlie Brown walking up the PEARLY GATES, and Tom says "Lucy is not here, you are gonna kick that ball." Heaven is cool. 8) The real sports fans know that Tom Landry was a kicker in high school.

Wait, wait - the Browns still have fans? I seem to remember them all committing suicide en masse when Dan Modell moved the team to Baltimore.

Growing up I played PeeWee Football in Canton Ohio...Two of my assistant coaches were Sam Houston (LB Cleveland Browns) and Bill Glass (DE Cleveland Browns)...I bleed Orange and Brown.

Hehe. Here it comes- the ultimate thread hijack. Just rename this thing 'The Football Thread.' We should do it every year...

EDIT: On your fantasy tailgating team, who would you have doing what? Steve's Ribs. Wings from? Tater Salad? BEEF?

Ha Ha, You guys have it, I have said my peace. A good football thread is always welcome. I got Packers and the Bills in the Super Bowl. Pack wins 38-19.

I have nothing of relevance to add, but on the strength of last week's win, I'd like to throw in a "Go Giants. I got your dream team right here."

Man, you got the bugers- and they are fine, but what about a good 'ol fashioned pot roast, too?!?! You can never go wrong with selection on proteins for tailgating.

EDIT: Shoot, now that I think about it- why not have a fantasy fried turkey? All up in the yard, bunch of hairy dudes watching this thing like a 10 car pile-up! Smell the leaves falling. Oops! Sorry that's just Ted coming from the fryer, lol!

I don't know Stephen, I still cannot get into the Vick hype, I know he paid his dues to society and everything but hanging, electrocuting and shooting dogs and blaming it on his childhood will always pit me against him and his ignorance.
IMO it is almost as bad as having a rapist QB like they do in Pittsburgh
