Re: To Complain or not to complain, regarding some recent po

I had my worst dining experience that I can recall at a popular restaurant on Bardstown Rd recently. We showed up about 25 minutes early for an 8:30 reservation. The hostesses informed us that we wouldn't be seated any earlier (which we were okay with) and said we could wait in the lounge. We ordered some drinks in the lounge. At around 8:40, we still had not received a table so I approached one of the hostesses, and she promptly seated us. It was very clear that they had forgotten about us though. Another 20 minutes passed without a server approaching our table so we had to go ask someone to serve us... which is always awkward. I wouldn't usually wait that long to track someone down, but we already had a bottle of wine and some beers from the lounge. Once we ordered, the food was a little slow coming out. We didn't receive our food until over an hour after our initial reservation time. I didn't feel comfortable complaining because we had an out of town guest with us, but I apologized to our guest.

In the end, I just decided not to go back. I definitely have a higher tolerance for waiting and sub-par service than most. This time, however, it was excessive, and I think the high prices didn't help. Certain expectations come with higher prices I guess.

I wouldn't have minded all that much if I was going there to hang out, but we were in the mood for food!
