There were some very nice snippets of the city skyline, etc, etc. Not sure what to say about the concept of the show, on one hand Adam Richmond (or anyone who consumes food like he does) kinda-sorta grosses me out. On the other hand it's like seeing a train wreck happen...in the sense that you WANT to look away but can't.

Lonnie Turner wrote:You really know you've made it by two factors: 1) you appear on national TV in a good light - repeatedly in the case of Ms. Winter's establishment & 2) you get trashed by locals for reasons that have no relation whatsoever to the customer experience
Tim Y wrote:I totally agree with Lynn being a train wreck!! (insert disgruntled ex-employee emoticon here) I was aghast when they were filming this thing and vowed not to watch it. It was Monday, following Derby and Mothers day weekend. I only did 52 hours in 3 days and was looking to my monday off, NOOOO, she brought everybody in to share in her glory. They even rented chef coats for the staff.
I was wearing my hand made coat w/ antique buttons, and black.
They wanted me to change into a rented white one.
It was a joke!!! All the mgmt staff was hanging out watching the "shoot", and the hourlys were all taking turns out back smoking. What a waste of time and money!! But there was a chance you might be on TV!!!
I've been on TV and was not the least bit concerned, I just wanted my normal day off. I had kicked major butt that weekend and even made double batches of milk-based sauces and gravies, (only 6 gals) my "lesser experienced" KM told me he had tried to do and failed.
WUSSY!! Thanks for nuthin'. I actually liked what I was doing there and would have continued, but alas, it was not meant to be. Did I mention I was job hunting? LOL
Troy McIntyre wrote:Tim, I wish your luck in your job search. If you were a restaurant owner and just read your post in a public forum referring to your former boss as a "train wreck", do you think that would help or hurt your chances of getting hired? As someone who has interviewed hundreds of people for a Fortune 100 company, being critical of your former boss or a company is always a really big red flag.
Ask Bobby Flay if he'd ever share a camera with her again after his "Throwdown" segment was taped....
