Based on your description it sounds like it's more of a "Louisville" pizza instead of a true New York one! Would you agree with that description?

Have not had a calzone in KY ever, or forever, and looking forward to one!

I like the calzones at Cliftons and Impellizaris.

But calzones are a RARE treat these days. I have not had a Calzone, Pizza, or even a bowl of pasta in almost 2 months. I'll admit ... I am a full blown melted cheese/tomato sauce/pepperoni/sausage/dough addict. Recovery is hell sometimes :-)

Ehhhhhhhh....that would be moi...and I posted my comments on Facebook because I really had no burning desire to post them here. Now that that horse is outta the barn, I'll have to go ahead and say no...no we were not particularly impressed. I suppose it was our own fault, in part, as we elected to visit during child-feeding-time. The adult/child ratio during our visit probably mirrored the Chuckie Cheese demographic - Sans Skee Ball. "Child friendly" (right down to crust knawing infants) would be an understatement. It was also incredibly loud...like small-jet-engine-in-your-ear loud. I had a sense that this was caused, at least in part, by parents who felt the need to shout across the table table to be heard above whining infants. For these two reasons alone, IF we decide to go back, it will be (a) during a time we can enjoy the patio and (b) after the kiddies are all back home watching Sponge Bob Square Pants.

The pizza ? Meh. The pizza we ordered was very "DiGiorno" like in appearance and very "chain-like" in taste and texture (please note that I really hate using the words "chain-like" as I am NOT one of those individuals who has drank from the "If it's not local it's crap" Kool Aid cup) Anyway, I originally had this in the "don't bother" category as I didn't even finish one slice of the pie and we were -outta- there, leaving the rest of the pie behind. In retrospect it probably wasn't the dissatisfaction with the pie that drove my desire to leave quickly as much as it was my desire to leave before incurring permanent hearing damage...or suffering the lingering trauma associated with witnessing an crowded aisle wandering 3 year old wear a pound of molten hot pizza sauce and cheese on their head.

We've had hundreds of these discussions, so I have NO doubt the some people are REALLY going to like the pie...and some people are really going to like that kid friendly atmosphere. That's all cool, I'm just relating what we experienced.

oh come on. really...

Now that Steve has posted his review here, I can say with almost 100% certainty that even if they had orgasmic pizza the noise level reported by you and Steve would keep me away. Some folks enjoy noise with their food and that is fine, but I'm not one of those folks.

It's been a rough week for you Stevie, first sit in traffic all day to fail to see Nascar then you spend a good amount of money for pizza and fail to eat it or even take it with you. Seems like you have a lot of money to waste.

Maybe we need one of those in Louisville! It would certainly fit right in with The Tilted Kilt, The Brick House and the other "want to be's" in that category!

Brian,

Nice try there HuckleBoy...but I rode in the back of the get down bus with you last week (which judging from my P.M. Inbox was extremely popular) and I'm not sitting there with you again...You are way-WAY too smart for me. But please...by all means...continue to self fornicate.

You may go now.

Sorry, I do not waste time responding to childish forum banter.

However, wasting good food is abhorrent and for that you're not cool.

Childish banter aside, when I pay for food it's mine to do with as I please. Especially when I don't get to control the size of the portions prepared. Contra your mother's admonition and the old saw about starving children in Africa, learning to just not eat everything on the plate is a key strategy for controlling weight.

When I have leftovers at a restaurant I often take them with me to eat later, but there are occasions when I don't. If I didn't like it, if it wouldn't reheat well, if there's not enough left to make a second meal, or if I know I won't have an opportunity to eat it before it goes bad, I leave it. Doing so isn't abhorrent, and it doesn't make me uncool. There's a lot of other stuff that makes me uncool.
