I appreciate reviews like this, because now we know to steer clear of this place. I'm glad there is a clientele that enjoys places like this, We just ain't it.

Re: water, I agree with you, Antonia. Doc Crow's does it too, and I really like it. I tend to drink a lot more, which is a good thing.

Yet another reason (after FOTB) not to bother trying them!

In such cases of course we just go with the flow and enjoy dinner and the environment as it is, but I was left feeling that the evening had been diminished a bit by the noise.

Am I just showing my boomerish age here? At least I didn't get up and shake my cane ...

Certainly not in our opinion! There are places where loud (or worse yet noisy) is acceptable and appropriate but I certainly do not believe that a restaurant is one of them!

Why not just ask for ice in your glass? They'd have it at the bar. If you simply don't want to try the restaurant, that's one thing, but the ice thing would be easily remedied. I ask for my glass of water without ice all the time.

I'm pretty sure if you order water without ice, you only get 1/2 a glass of water.

Show a little attitude and they'll probably cave and give you a full glass just to shut you up.

I'm thinking that ice violates the integrity of the water, and the chef would have put it in there if that was how you're supposed to drink it.

That's exactly what I thought, but then remembered the ice should have been made from locally caught, free range water.

Well played, sir. Well played indeed.
