Well ... I went at the first of the year - I mean, the actual week after New Year's - and had a very poor experience at Shalimar. It was a little late in the lunch hour, but that's no excuse for pans filled with nothing but liquid and no meat or vegetables left in them, and staff standing around with their hands behind their backs, literally glaring at diners in hope they'll leave. It really and truly put me off. This was the second such experience I had had over a fairly short (few months) period, and at that point I put them on my "meh" list for a while.
But that being said, I've been a fan of Shalimar since it arrived in town and really hated to see it slide like that. I'd be delighted to know that they're back on track. Still, I'd be tempted to go over around 1:30 (I'm not talking about five minutes before closing here) and see whether the "let us go home" issue has been cleared up.
