I think the Blue Dog is also a contender. Is Pat's open for lunch? I can't find their hours on the website. Thanks everyone! Excellent ideas. Also thinking Buck's might work too. Will pull up the menu.

All I can say is that if I make it to 90, no one better take me to any of these places. I'll be wanting a dark bar with cold beer, a good burger and football games and NASCAR on every TV.

If I make it to 90 - my guess is I'll be sucking it up a straw. They'll have to puree the burger with the beer.

Why "quiet" and not "exotic"???

When I go out with my father (admittedly younger, he's only 89) he wants to hit lively places, try new foods, see what's happening. Sure, sometimes we do quiet and genteel/refined, but for celebrations we tend to go somewhere celebratory!

I had a great aunt (who passed away almost 30 years ago) who in her 90's used to go with her girlfriends to every single new restaurant on their opening week. I have a relative here in town who is in her 80's who tries to do the same thing.

Some in their 90's do want peace and quiet, but it's not universal.

It can be difficult for people with hearing issues to take part in a conversation when there's a lot of ambient noise. I remember having wonderful talks with my grandfather when we were alone or with only a few people around. Add in a group with lots of noise and he was fairly silent. He really couldn't hear what was going on.

Don't disagree . . . there are places in town where I wouldn't go for dinner on a weekend, as I can't hear anything! On the other hand, I can think of very few if any places I won't go for lunch - or maybe an early dinner, before the band starts or the place gets jammed. Since Catherine asked about lunch, with my family (can't speak to others) the field is wide open!

Seriously. I'm with Andrew. Kick it out, have a little fun. Take her to the casino.

Didn't think of the casino, but that's a great idea! Nothing like lunch and some nickle slots to make a fun birthday!

I had originally thought of 21C (quieter for lunch, flat surfaces, valet parking), Rivue (rotating is fun, accessible, easy parking), Asiatique (if they can handle stairs OK), or Jeff Ruby's (I'd never recommend for dinner, as unless you're in a back room away from the action you absolutely can't hear, but for lunch fun! - check on accessibility tho, as I don't know off-hand where ramps might be). Z's Fusion is very different, new, "cutting edge", and accessible with easy parking. Lots of choices!

It'd be even BETER if it was a Casino, lunch, nickle slots and an "All Male Review"...I mean dine with "Paula", lose a couple rolls of nickles, pinch a little bootie. WHAT 90 year old woman wouldn't enjoy that ? Seriously.
