Speaking of minimum wage...So I've kinda half-assed tossed out a few hundred resumes in the past year or so (What can I say, this retirement gig can get a little boring at times)...ANYWAY, out of all these resumes I received one face to face interview, one phone interview, and three "kiss my ass" emails. So here a month or so ago I noticed MAC-Donalds was going to hire a boat load of people, so I thought OK, lets see just howwwwwww bad it reeeeeeally is...and I tossed 'em a resume (note: I had NO intention of actually working at Mickey D's...this was purely an exploratory mission). So thanks to that little experiment, I now find myself in the uncomfortable position of deciding which is worse...telling my friends I applied at McDonalds....or telling my friends I applied and McDonalds and the told me to kiss their ass.   ..... :P

Back to retirement

I heard that Doc Crow's could use someone to cook their ribs. You might want to check it out.

Of course you'd have to figure out how to make them "fall off the bone" all the time!

You are right there Sean, and I am deciding to go with the fiance's advice and remember," it is just a job". I like what I am doing though and that makes a difference. It is way above this other persons skill level, and mgmt seems to be responding accordingly. I am doing high volume "hot prep", PM, (was only trained in AM, so I was pretty free to do it however I "thought it should be done") part saucier, (5 gals mornay) and part "banquet chef type stuff", (3 pans mac n cheese). House recipes unfortunately. But I don't have the stress of "working the line". :D I do have to keep them stocked though which keeps me jumping. I have utilized some under-used equipment and come up with a really good system that none of the previous "hot preps" had discovered. 8) Feather in my cap. I think they like my solution to their "problems that they had". I hope they will do more than 'pat me on the back'.
