Well, yeah, but that tradition is hardly deeply enshrined in history. It only goes back to the '70s and the golden age of neighborhood community development funding in the Sloane administration.
For tourism purposes, Louisville might do very well to re-examine taking advantage of the "Old Louisville" brand to advertise our remarkable heritage of 19th century buildings not just south of downtown but also East and West Market, Cherokee Triangle, parts of Crescent Hill and Russell, and the Olmstead parks and parkways.
