Can we have a little love for Lit’l Smokies wrapped in canned crescent roll dough?

The Ball Park Grillmaster is fine by me - I don't have to make a road trip to get them and they satisfy any craving I have however infrequently.

All this talk about hot dogs, I just ordered me up 2 jars (each) of Vienna Sport Peppers and Neon Green Relish. Now all I need to find is a source for Chicago Dog style Poppy Seed rolls ? Anyone ?

You can get the Vienna brand relish and peppers locally from Lonnies in St Matts.. I think hed sell the poppy seed rolls as well.
The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

Schwing !

I gave 'em a call and they sell the rolls (12 pack) for 3.50. The lady said they were out of the small jars of sport peppers and relish but that she'd sell some "on the side" from her industrial strength stash.

Now....I just needs me some dogs.

Restaurant Depot. But you would have to buy a case of them. 120 buns for around 24 bucks.

Mike G, my juggalo bro, just wait... :)

I chose Nathan's. Yes, it's got to have the natural casing and I really would prefer to not ever serve a hot dog ever again but when I do, I like a Nathan's dog burnt with garlic mayo. YUM.

Vienna Beef of course.

When I was a kid, Saturday night dinner was, Vienna beef hot dogs, pan fried in butter, baked beans, salad, and brown bread (the stuff that comes in a can). We had that for dinner, every Saturday night for years, and I loved it.

I just go over to Lonnie's. It's so nice to have someone else make me a dog and fries. :D

Interesting that a "Dog" that is so hard to find around here is the hands down leader in the poll.

Costco is selling Bobak's Veal Frankfurters. Having lived in Chicago for almost 5 years, I can tell you these are an excellent product. Natural casings, plenty of snap, absolutely delicious. Bobak's is a traditional polish butcher shop and store right by the Midway Airport. They have an amazing buffet. But the Grocery is something not to be missed. My other all time favorite is the house made hotdogs at the Paulina Meat Market. Also some exceptionally talented polish butchers.
