I am officially old. The only word I recognized in that was "seitan."

You called my name, Richard? So flattered! Rich article and fun food for thought. Romantic.

St. Eve, you're gonna give yourself an hernia getting worked up about the food-volution. I'm going to build you a firewall for your birthday designed to block all things hip on the interwebs, damn curmudgeon. Or Father's Day, whichever comes first.

I love the idea, for a number of reasons:

a) It subverts the political blah-blah and places the food back in the hands of the people.

b) It would be an awesome way for people to raise capital for thier food ambitions. Be it soup, BBQ, or preserved goods. Anybody ever gripe about Steve R's Jerky? Hell no! A total cult following, that man has. Sooner or later, you'll be able to pick his wares up at a retailer! Nice.

c) Freedom of Creativity and the Purest Form of Free Market- I'll do what makes me happy. You like it, buy more.

I'm not such a fan of the fees paid to the organizer, yet with the size of the markets they were talking about. Well, I guess it is justified. Starting out, it seems the organizer should be a participant and should recieve free product from the bretheren.

(but that's just me)

This would help "The Food Truck Setback" by bypassing official permits and inspections.
Maybe this will allow Li'l Cheezers to operate in Louisville without a drawing of their plumbing!

Translation for "old" people :

This is soooooo cool! Yeahhhhh... sit around on the curb, sample the latest in seitan fare, slam back a few cans of domestic light beer in blue cans, maybe do a little dance once we get a buzz on... and afterward we can chit chat.

A little silly to continue to highjack the thread to say so (sorry to all studious readers), but I have to tell you that my long standing (and unholy) Father's Day greeting to my dad is: "happy fatha's day, ya mutha...".
