I like it. Not better than more authentic choices in town, but more than Chi-Chis.

Went to Clarksville location last night. Got there around 4:30 in the downpour. We were seated immediately buy by 4:45 there was a long wait.

I liked their salsa. Similar to what i would make at home. Chunks of tomatoes and fresh herbs. It was probably "medium" heat for me. My family did not like it because they don't like anything spicy. My wife had the Chuys special and she said it was ok. It was enchiladas made with blue corn tortillas. I had the chile relleno. I though it was good.

I dont think we will be back any time soon. Too crowded, no really plain stuff for my pain in the neck 14 year old, and if i want plain old Mexican i would just go to El Nopal or similar.

In my mind, Chuy's is to Tex-Mex what Chuckie Cheese is to pizza. Four of us dined at Chuy's recently and all four of us had something different and all four of us hated it.

I had:

"Chuy’s Special" An authentic New Mexican recipe. Homemade blue corn tortillas stacked with freshly-roasted, hand-pulled chicken, cheese & Tomatillo sauce, topped with sour cream.

...and thought it was one of the nastiest things I've ever had in my mouth. Hand pulled chicken maybe...if you call pulling it out of a microwave "hand pulled".

Won't go back. Ever.

About the only Mexican we'll eat in this town is Las Gorditas and a couple of the taquerias in the Hispanic grocery stores. I just can't take the Tex-Mex locally - just about anywhere.
