While it is not a "brioche bun" per se, Nord's hamburger buns are in all respects, a brioche bun. They never have them out front, you have to ask for them. Typically they have a six pack of them frozen in the back. Hands down the best hamburger bun in this city. Perhaps some of you will recall them when the Patron was open and doing their burger nights.

Perhaps you should come by zanzabar where we serve our house blend steak burger on a Nord's bakery bun.

I'm pretty sure it's the same sort of thing at Ermin's. Or at least it used to be.

Thanks for the note on Bakery at Sullivan. It is a treasure that I have just discovered. A few months back there was a thread about finding croissants and although Sullivan was not mentioned, I went there on a hunch, and am now addicted to the almond filled croissants. I will give them a call about brioche this weekend!

Varanese has a great burger. Here is the description- “V” Burger Char grilled and topped with smoked mozzarella and crispy prosciutto.

Also, a few friends tell me Jack Fry's has the best burger in town and will try to do any of the toppings you ask for (within reason).

Sounds great, but I rarely go out without my kids (4 & 1 yrs) anymore. At what hour do you transform from a bar w/food to a rock club (assuming I'd be comfortable bringing my family there at all)?

Definitely bring the kids, we have loads of video games and are usually pretty family friendly until about 8 on the weekends and 9 on the weekdays.
Don't come on Sundays though, it's trivia night, and we're always slammed (hard to find seating).

Hi Ryan- Came through last Saturday, Abbey was our server, and she was great. Enjoyed the burger a lot, though I only had a bite of it, my two boys split it. I had to go Flinstones and had the Steak Fritez. I'm not over in Germantown a whole lot, but am glad to add Zbar to the top of my list of fine burgers in town.

Our Old Hat Cattle Company Burger at Lilly's is really delicious. Its the best I've had since moving back to Louisville. Local beef, local bibb lettuce, hand cut fries, great cheese, what more could you ask for in a burger?

I’m in Arlington VA quite a bit and I love to go to Ray’s Hell Burger.
It’s counter service with a very simple interior, but the burgers are outstanding!
I think the concept might do well in Louisville.

Haven't eaten them yet, but the burgers at Doc Crows are listed as "All burgers served on a toasted brioche bun"

I've been "chewing" on this response for a long time, but tonight it "hit" me: the meatball slyder (sic) at Voloare.

It might be a bit small, so order two, but far and away, for me, this is the one! It is a petite, but thick lamb meatball sandwich with melted provolone, pepper, onion and a green peppercorn demi glase; available only on the bar menu.! I will gladly sit in the bar area for this morsel of heavenly delight. At only $4, if I need or want more, it's doable.

However, I usually pass on the second, because I can't resist staring with the Barbabietola ($6), red and gold beets with pistachio crusted fired goat cheese, spicy cress and citrus salsa. I should warn you that I am a sucker for a good beet salad, but this is one of the best in town.

Oh, did I mention Chef Josh's panne cotta? That is another whole entry!

I put vegetables in your desserts, white chocolate with your fish and other nonsense stuff that you think shouldn't make sense, but coax the nonsense into something that makes complete sense in your mouth. Just open your mind, mouth and eat.
