On top of that you have the soon to be open Coal, along with more traditional restaurants that have pizza on their menus like Cafe LouLou and BBC.

It kind of makes you wonder what the saturation point is, and if they'll all survive. I wish them all the best.

It's my considered opinion that this is a direct outgrowth of St. Matthews' booming recent development as a nightspot/watering hole zone, which is a thing of beauty insofar as it takes the community back to its roots as Gilman's Corner, a notorious saloon that operated in the early 1800s at what was then known as Five Points. It was only after the Civil War that the city fathers decided their growing community was better named after a local church. Of course, they did pick a damn fine one. 8)

I wonder when parking is going to become an issue in that area? Luckily there's the spillover extra parking behind the old Bacon's (?). I can't tell you the number of times I've been mislead to believe that the BBC is busier than it actually is because the parking lot is beyond full. A meaner business than the BBC wouldn't be so into sharing their parking lot. It's by-far the biggest parking space in that general area and gets used accordingly.
Thinks the frosty mug is the low point in American history.

I know I don't overlook LouLou's pizza. I rarely go for a "specialty" pie. I like cheese or pepperoni but that's about it but LouLou's Buffalo Chicken pizza is amazing.

I had that the other night... I'm a recent blue cheese convert (still don't love it, but it has it's moments) and would usually ask for the pizza without it... on the buffalo chicken pizza though it added a nice bite to compliment the spiciness of the sauce... just a very fun and well balanced pizza.

I've actually never had a "regular" pizza at Lou Lou. Their Crispy Spinach Lavash is awesome, however.

Anyone try Spinelli's St Matthews? It's slighty closer to me than the Goose Creek location (I live at Westport and the Watterson), so I will give it a try on my next pizza outing.

They have a proper conveyor pizza oven, a lot of toppings to choose from (artichokes, smoked sausage, goat cheese...) They make their own pizza sauce, and their own dough from scratch.

And where else can you have pizza delivered along with Wild Bill's Cajun Cheese or a Blue Cheese Polenta with roasted red pepper sauce?

Agreed. I haven't had a Lou Lou pie in awhile, but we had a four cheese with pepperoni and spinach added delivered on Friday, and it was outstanding.
