best date night under $50

Proof Bar. Order the charcuterie & cheese plate and two glasses of wine and lounge on the couches enjoying the tastes and the vibes. Gets us in a great mood everytime. You could even go fro there to Sweet Surrender for some fantastic dessert and still be in budget.

$50? Hands down...Volare. The have an amazing small plates menu and half price wine every night at the bar. IMO, the best bang for the buck in the Louisville dining scene when you take cost, atmosphere, service, food quality, and live music into consideration.

We eat there about once a week and love it...You're free to take your time...order a small plate or two, see how you feel and then maybe order another small plate or split an entree...or just sit there and enjoy your wine and live music. You can easily get out of there for under $50, especially if you don't drink, but even if you do, $50 is doable with some planning ($20 for a bottle of wine leaves plenty of room for some small plates/salads and a light entree).

Volare is one of the few places in town that has truly exceptional service. So it will be a memorable night with some good people watching to boot.
