Im not into giving unsolicited advice....much.

But ...I bet your dad would like it a whole lot more if you did it. Cost of cheesecake / cost of pan - pretty relative unless you are like me and have a sous chef that demands pots and pans that have been hand hammered from rare metals...

Not to mention - as a collaborative effort - Im pretty sure you could launch a recipe request here that quite possibly could spawn into another throw down.... Or I bet Marsha, Marsha, Marsha - could provide something.

I'd love to provide, but haven't got the time or place right now. Sweet Surrender or Doll's or Cake Flour or Homemade ICP Kitchen are your best bets.

I can't imagine not having a springform pan. I've got one in the cab of my truck right now.

They're certainly good. And I have been known to eat baked goods that come from a box. I'm all over Pepperidge Farm stuff and Thomas English Muffins. 8)

Adam Matthews Flop Shop is great!! And so is the variety cheesecake from Gordon Foods- 10 different varieties on one cake!

Ditto on Pepperidge Farms and Thomas English Muffins. The Thomas Light Multigrain ones are just plain addictive...

As is the Oregon Trail Raisin Cinnamon with Vanilla bread from Sam's!

I could be wrong, but doesn't Adam Matthews own HIC&Pie Kitchen???

Sweet Surrender and others are great, but you can't beat the prices at the Matthews factory outlet!

Yes, with a nuance. If I remember correctly, Adam Matthew Burckle, who produces the Adam Matthew's brand, bought HIC&PK from its original owners a few years ago, and launched the expansion of several branches from the original location on Bardstown just out from Taylorsville.

If I'm not mistaken, the forum's Adam Smith also works for this outfit, although I assume he is a different Adam and not just another Matthew-Burckle persona. :D
