That would probably be a challenge to make work considering Panera just open their new location over by The Fresh Market! Hopefully Calistoga (and Papa John) don't get any ideas!

I live walking distance from Westport Village and a good sandwich shop would be awesome. That or a pub/sports bar.

It's interesting to watch Westport Village fill up... I've forgotten the original restaurant that was in the Wild Eggs space, but I think it would now do fine with the increased amount of foot traffic.

I also wouldn't comlain about a good burger joint going in there, although I think the space might be too big for that.

Like you I forget the name of that restaurant but I don't think it's lackluster service and sporadic food quality would have been overcome by the traffic that is now in Westport Village. Besides a lot of the traffic during the daytime is generated by Wild Eggs.

Wasn't there something like that in the Wild Eggs location; it didn't last long.

There sure was. It was okay, but the problem was that it was too much like a Panera and didn't rise much above a chain-like mediocrity. Unfortunately, when you try to emulate Panera without improving on the model, you don't give people a reason to depart from the more familiar brand.

Are you talking about the old Herman's Deli? That used to be in the Dupont Wild Eggs building. That place was a train wreck from the beginning.

I remember the food be good and the service being OK... then again, I only went their once. Wild Eggs has certainly increased the foot traffic in the area, though.

Macca's was replaced by Tony Boombozz... I still can't remember the places name, Herman's Deli does not sound right.

Bountiful Bread Bakery Cafe - I think it was a small chain.

IMO, Indigo Joes died because they offered bar-grub food at a premium price but never offered a good reason for the premium. The service was good, but the food was 'meh' at best, even by chain standards.

Word is, a real successful bar and grille may be going in....or they're at least strongly looking at it. gonna overhaul the inside a little.....some Caribbean flare...

Bingo!

"JPS Restaurant has the rights to do 15 Bountiful Bread stores, including six in Louisville"

Looks like it was a massive failure all around.

Will,

Exactly, a nice sandwich! I live about a mile and a half away. Within walking distance, but only in good weather. If a burger place went in, I would certainly visit it, but I don't need the calories!

Leased sign on the building and workers inside, any news?
