Deb - you make me blush - you know I dont like attention..... thats actually Mikey Padgetts arm. My staff had a lot of fun with that shoot. (one day I'll share the photos from that shoot that were not released) We have some very interesting (and BIG) things planned for Louisville this year, so tell your boss thanks for the support and to stay tuned. and for you - dont be such a stranger...but also, let me know when you are heading in - those BIG things are taking up alot of my time lately.

Jayson, your site rocks! Other restaurants could learn a LOT from your site. One page with menu, prices, hours, location and phone number...exactly what most people want to find! It also loads quickly on the phone...big bonus! Though I really liked the photo...that says so much more than the standard restaurant frontage a lot of places use.

Another site that I think is well done is Seviche's. It's very simple, good colors and easy to get to the menu. Another smart thing they did was put the phone number at the top of every page and it's a link if you are browsing by phone...insta-dial is win!

I was just on a website for a Mexican place we ordered dinner from and got stuck in menu hell. While I could get to their menu easily, I couldn't get back to the main page to get their phone number! They were lucky I had a serious craving for some mexican tonight!

Matt...Not trying to be harsh, but on first glance, the site looks more like a company that sells or supplies food carts more so than one that is out sell food. If you would like some more insight to make your site work, PM me.

From the consumer's point of view, I have several criteria I expect in a restaurants web site, they are as follows:

> It loads quickly (thus not a lot of detailed graphics)
> It's easy to find the menu, location, phone number and hours of operation
> It doesn't take navigation through a lot of layers to get to what you want
> I definitely prefer menus that are in PDF format, they're easier to read and print

They really don't have to be anything fancy, just informative. Actually many of the local restaurants (some mentioned earlier) have very good websites.

Here's one from the article http://alibabaexpress.com/ if someone said they thought was a perfect one. In my opinion it's not very good at all and very difficult to find out where they're located.

Madeline - thanks for the compliment. I’d love to take creative license here and say it was all my idea... I wish. My Graphics Maestro Jason Pierce at MPerfect is the brain behind it. I feed the ideas; he makes sense of them and then polishes it up. I would hate to think of what the perception of us might be if the branding and web design were solely up to me. Although Sole Owner - not Sole decision maker... know what I mean?

Yes, Seviche is hitting on all cylinders right now. Not many restaurants can balance the "city Icon" role, all while maintaining an edge. I would presume it’s because the chef spends so much time getting in touch with his sensitive side... you should see the sweater he made me for Christmas...it was very special. Spelled Feliz Navidad with two v's - so I think he may have been sipping the special egg nog. But Gifts like that - show - there is a man behind the whites... not afraid to do a little quilting from time to time.

I am not a professional and don't claim to be I was simply stating that good websites can be made on your own instead of overpaying professionals to do it. There really wasn't any need to attack my website and then try to offer your services to me. Thanks anyway though.

I by no means meant it as an attack, that was not my intent. I was just trying to give some constructive criticism. You've been very open to input on your menu ideas, logo and shirt designs. And no, I'm not trying to solicit business...I don't have time to take on anything else right now and I wouldn't charge a fellow forumite. I was merely offering to give you some suggestions on how to make the site work for your business needs. While you don't think they are worth putting money into for advertising, you are wanting to let people know where your truck is going to be and since you have the twitter feed on your website, it seems like a logical place for people to seek you out since not everyone is on Twitter.

As good as their food is and as fancy as the web site looks, Kobe Japanese Steakhouse's site has absolutely atrocious spelling in the menu section.

Completely understand Matt. We all have those days and I probably should have worded things a bit better too. I'll send you a PM with some suggestions and you can play with them as you please! It will probably be tomorrow though as I'm about done for this day!

Jayson,
Anthony asked me to pass along a message to you. He is thrilled that you liked the sweater and apologizes for his atrocious spelling. He hopes that you are also enjoying the Jeggings that came with the sweater, despite his misspelling of "hotty" on the butt monogram. He is sure that you will get plenty of wear out of them- they look great with a chef coat.
Warm wishes,
Anthony
