Hooter's used to have forty cent oysters on Mondays, but as of last week the waitress at Dupont said that they hadn't had fresh oysters in months.

Rumors has been serving oysters (both raw and steamed!) in Louisville for what seems like forever . . . very good and very cheap (last time was around $9/dozen?) . . . also last time I was told that they were running smaller than the chef liked, so they gave me 14 instead of 12 for the $9.

I went to the Blind Pig last night (Fri) and had an oyster extravaganza. Two of us had a salad each, the Oyster Fritters in Champagne Batter appetizer and a dozen and a half of the chef's choice raw oysters on the half-shell (3 different kinds). They were $30 per dozen but worth it! YUUMMMMM! I don't know if the BP fit my request for finding a non upscale restaurant that served raw oysters, but awesome nevertheless.

I'll try Rumors next, but Blind Pig will be hard to follow.

BTW;
The Caramelized Pineapple, Rum & Cinnamon glaze with Mascarpone Creme was the best dessert I have ever had!
